Effective June 29, 2026
We want RePLAYed playable by as many people as possible, and we're working toward WCAG 2.1 AA. Some of it gets there; the live 3D parts don't yet, and we say so plainly below.
What we've built in
- Calm mode. If your device asks for reduced motion, the arcade turns the animation, the moving crowd, the flashing, and the ambient sound right down or off.
- Keyboard play. You can walk the arcade floor with the arrow keys or WASD, and menus and buttons can be reached and used with the keyboard, with a visible focus outline so you always know where you are.
- Clear structure. Pages use real headings and landmarks, a skip-to-content link, and descriptive labels.
- High contrast. We aim for strong, legible contrast between text and the dark background.
- Plain language. We try to say what things do in plain words, not jargon.
Where it falls short — honestly
The 3D arcade floor and several of the games are visual, real-time experiences drawn on a canvas. Those are genuinely hard to make fully usable with a screen reader, and we don't claim they meet AA during play. We keep the surrounding pages and navigation accessible, describe each game in text, and keep calm mode available throughout. We're chipping away at the rest over time.
